How to Make a Margarita With Sherbet

Margaritas are a blend of three main flavors: the tartness from the lime juice, sweetness from the simple syrup or sugar and an earthy and peppery bite from the tequila. Making margaritas with sherbet adds more fruit and sweetness to the drink, meaning you get to balance it out with more tequila. Things You'll Need

  • Lime sherbet
  • Tequila
  • Orange liqueur
  • Lime juice
  • Ice
  • Blender

Instructions

  1. Pull the sherbet from the freezer and allow it to thaw and soften enough for easier spoon. Do not let it thaw for more than 25 to 30 minutes as the sherbet will begin to melt and become too soft and watery.

  2. Spoon 4 parts sherbet into the blender, then add 2 parts each ice and tequila, 1 part orange liqueur and 1 tablespoon of lime juice for every 4 ounces of tequila.

  3. Blend the contents on a low to medium power for 2 to 5 minutes or until the contents become consistent and frothy. Pour the contents into margarita or pint glasses, then garnish with a lime slice.
