Is saltpeter the same as lemon salt?

Saltpeter and lemon salt are not the same.

- Saltpeter: a white crystalline salt, chemically known as potassium nitrate (KNO3). It is often used as a preservative in meat and fish and as a component in gunpowder and fireworks.

- Lemon salt: a mixture of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. Citric acid is a white crystalline powder that is naturally found in citrus fruits. Sodium bicarbonate is a white, powdery substance also known as baking soda. Lemon salt is commonly used as a flavoring agent in cooking and baking and can also be used as a cleaning agent.
