Does a pop can stay cooler longer when aluminum foil is wrapped around it?

Wrapping a pop can in aluminum foil does not effectively insulate it to keep it cooler longer. While aluminum foil has some insulating properties, its thinness and high thermal conductivity make it a poor material for this purpose.

Effective insulation materials generally have low thermal conductivity, preventing heat flow, and possess significant thickness. Common materials used for thermal insulation include foams, fiberglass, and specialized insulating coatings. Wrapping a pop can with aluminum foil alone does not enhance insulation significantly enough to result in a noticeable impact on the time it remains cool.
