How do you know when a pecan pie is done?

There are a couple ways to tell when a pecan pie is done:

- Crust color. The crust of a pecan pie should be golden brown all the way around when the pie is finished baking.

- Filling texture. The filling of a pecan pie should be set but still slightly jiggly when you move the pie. If the pie appears to be completely solid, it is likely overcooked.

- Toothpick test. Insert a toothpick into the center of the pie. If the toothpick comes out clean, the pie is done.

Also, many recipes indicate a specific baking time, for example, 55-65 minutes. However, baking time can vary depending on your oven, so it's important to check for doneness as described above.
