How do you slice cookie dough?
How To Slice Cookie Dough:
1. First, chill your cookie dough log for at least 2 hours. This will make it easier to slice them neatly and evenly.
2. Once the cookie dough is chilled, remove it from the refrigerator and let it sit for a few minutes to come to room temperature. This will make dough less stiff and easier to cut.
3. Use a sharp knife to slice your cookie dough into rounds or squares. If you want perfectly round cookies, cut straight down into the dough, without wiggling the knife. If you prefer square cookies, slice the cookie dough into rectangles instead of rounds.
4. For thick cookies, slice the cookie dough into ½ inch thick rounds. For thin cookies, slice the dough into ¼ inch thick rounds.
5. After slicing the cookies, you can bake them immediately or store them in the refrigerator for later. If you are storing the cookies in the refrigerator, cover them tightly with plastic wrap or foil to prevent them from drying out.
6. When ready to bake, preheat the oven according to the recipe instructions. Place the cookies on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for the desired amount of time, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown and the centers are set.
7. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
