Sugar Cookies with Egg Whites
Ingredients:
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 2 egg whites
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in the egg whites one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden brown around the edges.
8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:
* To make the cookies more festive, you can add sprinkles, colored sugar, or chocolate chips to the dough before baking.
