How do you soften hamburger buns?
How to Soften Hamburger Buns:
Option 1: Steam the Buns
- Fill the bottom of a large pot with 1-2 inches of water. Bring water to a boil over high heat.
- Once water is boiling, reduce to medium-low heat. Place hamburger buns in a steaming basket (or a colander placed upside down in a bowl). Cover the pot with a lid and let buns steam for approximately 5 minutes, or until slightly softened and warm.
Option 2: Microwave the Buns
- Dampen a paper towel under cold water. Wring out the excess water so that the paper towel is moist.
- Wrap one hamburger bun at a time in a damp paper towel.
- Microwave the wrapped bun in 15-second increments until softened, about 30-45 seconds.
- Repeat steps 2-3 for any remaining buns.
Option 3: Oven Reheating
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Place hamburger buns on a baking tray.
- Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the buns.
- Cover the baking tray with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 5 minutes or until slightly softened.
