How do you soften hamburger buns?

How to Soften Hamburger Buns:

Option 1: Steam the Buns

  1. Fill the bottom of a large pot with 1-2 inches of water. Bring water to a boil over high heat.
  2. Once water is boiling, reduce to medium-low heat. Place hamburger buns in a steaming basket (or a colander placed upside down in a bowl). Cover the pot with a lid and let buns steam for approximately 5 minutes, or until slightly softened and warm.

Option 2: Microwave the Buns

  1. Dampen a paper towel under cold water. Wring out the excess water so that the paper towel is moist.
  2. Wrap one hamburger bun at a time in a damp paper towel.
  3. Microwave the wrapped bun in 15-second increments until softened, about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 for any remaining buns.

Option 3: Oven Reheating

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Place hamburger buns on a baking tray.
  3. Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the buns.
  4. Cover the baking tray with aluminum foil and bake for approximately 5 minutes or until slightly softened.
