A recipe for garlic cheese biscuits?
Garlic Cheese Biscuits (Yields 12-14 biscuits)
Ingredients:
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
* 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Whisk dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in butter: Add chilled butter cubes to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add cheese, parsley, and garlic: Stir in cheddar cheese, parsley, and minced garlic.
5. Add buttermilk: Gradually add buttermilk, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix. The dough will be slightly sticky.
6. Shape biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for just a few seconds. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle. Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Gather scraps and re-roll to make more biscuits.
7. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Tips:
* For a crispier biscuit, bake for a few minutes longer.
* If using a sharp knife instead of a biscuit cutter, dip it in flour to prevent sticking.
* You can substitute Parmesan cheese for cheddar cheese.
* For a stronger garlic flavor, use 3 cloves of garlic instead of 2.
* Serve warm with butter, jam, or soup.
