What candies today have castoreum in them?

Castoreum, a substance derived from the anal glands of beavers, is not a common ingredient in candies today. While it was historically used as a flavoring agent, its use in food has become very rare.

There are no known candies currently being manufactured that contain castoreum.

Here's why:

* Ethical Concerns: Using castoreum in food products raises ethical concerns about animal welfare.

* Availability: Obtaining castoreum is difficult and expensive.

* Alternative Flavorings: There are many synthetic and natural alternatives that can replicate the flavor of castoreum, making it unnecessary for most food manufacturers to use the original substance.

While castoreum is still technically approved as a food additive by the FDA, its use is now extremely limited.
