How To Cook a Cake (5 Steps)

Things You'll Need

  • 2 1/4 Cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 Cups milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Stick melted butter
  • 1/2 Tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Package of vanilla pudding mix
  • 9- by 13-inch Baking pan
  • Shortening
  • Mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use shortening to grease the nine- by thirteen-inch pan. Lightly flour the pan after greasing.

  2. Combine self-rising flour, sugar and dry pudding mix in a large mixing bowl. Sift the dry ingredients together.

  3. Combine milk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract in a small mixing bowl. Beat the wet ingredients for about two minutes.

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix the batter on medium-high for two minutes.

  5. Pour the batter into the nine- by 13-inch baking pan. Bake in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven when a toothpick inserted into the cake's center comes out clean.
