Why are blueberries called if they really purple?
Blueberries are actually a deep purple color, but they are often called blue because of the waxy coating on their skin. This coating, known as bloom, gives the berries a bluish appearance. Additionally, the inside of the berries is also a deep purple color, but the skin can appear blue when the light hits it.
