Where does tinned fruit come from?
The origins of tinned fruit can be traced back to the early 19th century, when French inventor Nicolas Appert developed a method of preserving food by sealing it in glass jars and boiling the jars in water. Appert's method was later adapted for use with tin cans, and the first tinned fruit products were produced in England in the 1840s. Tinned fruit quickly became a popular commodity, as it allowed people to enjoy fruit out of season and in remote locations. Today, tinned fruit is produced all over the world and is a staple of many households.
