How do you remove mold from vanilla beans?
Step 1: Remove any visible mold.
Step 2: Sanitize the beans
Place the beans in a bowl of hot water (around 180°F) for 5 minutes. This should effectively kill any remaining mold spores.
Step 3: Dry the beans.
Remove the sanitized beans from the hot water and pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Step 4: Store the beans properly
Place the mold-free vanilla beans in an airtight container and store them in a cool, dry place.
