How to Store Fennel (6 Steps)
Fennel is a green vegetable with a unique, somewhat sweet taste. Both fresh fennel and the dried seeds of a separate fennel plant variety called Common Fennel, according to Big Oven, are used in cooking. According to Easy French Food, fennel seeds may be used as flavoring for sausages and other dishes. You will keep fresh fennel or fennel seeds fresh longer if you store them properly.
Things You'll Need

Place fresh fennel in sealed plastic bags. Fennel may pick up flavors of other foods if not kept in a closed container.

Put the bags in your refrigerator, preferably in the vegetable crisper as suggested by WH Foods.
-
Use fresh fennel within a few days (up to a week) of purchase. Fennel will lose flavor as it ages, according to WH Foods.

Place the seeds in an airtight glass jar. Place a label on the container with the date of the day you placed them there.
-
Place in a dark part of the cupboard, as advised by Help With Cooking. You can also store fennel seeds in the refrigerator to keep them fresher longer.
-
Use the seeds within six months for best flavor.
