How to Preserve Banana Skin (7 Steps)
Bananas are a popular fruit. The banana is rich in potassium, phosphorus and other nutrients. People eat bananas raw or use them in recipes. Banana skins or peels also offer benefits. Banana skins make an excellent fertilizer for rose bushes and other plants. Preserving banana peels allows a gardener to use the peels year round as a fertilizer.

Instructions

Purchase ripe bananas with good color. Put peels aside after eating banana.

Remove the stem. Slice the peels into 2-inch strips

Place the banana peels onto a cookie sheet in a single layer. Separate the banana peels so they don't touch.

Place the cookie sheet on a flat surface in the freezer.

Let the peels freeze.

Remove the peels from the cookie sheet and place in container suitable for freezer. Store the container of peels in the freezer.

Remove peels from freezer when ready to use.
