Do apple seeds have cyanide in them?

Apple seeds do contain amygdalin, a compound that can release cyanide when digested. However, the amount of cyanide in apple seeds is very small, and it would take a large number of seeds to cause any harm. For example, it would take eating about 200 apple seeds at once to reach the lethal dose of cyanide for an adult.

Therefore, while apple seeds do contain cyanide, the amount is too small to be a cause for concern unless consumed in large quantities.
