* 1 pound (450 grams) fresh edamame in pods

* 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce

* 1/4 cup (60 ml) water

* 1 teaspoon kosher salt

* 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add edamame and cook for 5 minutes, or until tender. Drain and set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk soy sauce, water and salt together.

3. Add edamame to the bowl and toss to coat.

4. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.

Tips

* To toast sesame seeds, heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add sesame seeds and cook, stirring constantly, until golden brown.

* Edamame can be served hot or cold.

* If you don't have fresh edamame, you can use frozen edamame. Thaw frozen edamame before cooking.

* Edamame is a good source of protein, fiber and vitamins. It is also a good source of isoflavones, which are plant compounds that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
