What was the first brand of crisp?
The first brand of crisp was called Smith's Potato Crisps and it was invented by Frank Smith in 1923 in Blackpool, England. After accidentally creating overcooked, crunchy potatoes, Smith began selling the crisps locally from his own stall. The business was a success and his crisps could soon be found all across England.
