How do you get rid of burnt wood smell from dishwasher?

1. Identify and Remove the Source of the Smell.

- Disconnect your dishwasher from the power supply.

- Remove the inside dishracks.

- Look at the bottom of the dishwasher and you should see a filter cover - twist it off.

- Below the filter cover is the filter - remove it by lifting it up slightly and pulling it towards you.

- Check for any burnt bits of food on the filter, wash the filter in hot soapy water, rinse and set aside.

2. Clean the Sump

- Remove any large pieces of food stuck in the sump.

- Fill a measuring cup with about 2 cups of white vinegar.

- Pour the vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher.

- Allow the vinegar to sit for about 30 minutes.

- Sprinkle about a cup of baking soda over the vinegar.

- Let the baking soda and vinegar solution bubble and fizz for 30 minutes.

- Wash and re-install the filter and run the dishwasher on the longest and hottest cycle.

3. Leave Dishwasher Door Open

- After the cleaning cycle is complete, the dishwasher should be mostly deodorized.

- Leave the dishwasher door open to allow any residual moisture and cooking odors to air out.

- It is recommended that you repeat the cleaning process every month to prevent odours from building up.
