How to Juice a Lemon in a Juicer (5 Steps)
There are plenty of recipes that call for lemon juice, from 1/2 tsp. worth to 1/4 cup. The standard method of juicing a lemon is to use a citrus juicer, where you put the lemon, cut side down, onto the juicer and push and twist the lemon half. This works great if you only need a small amount of lemon juice, but if you have a lot of lemons to juice, you may want to use an electric juicer. While it may not be the most common method of juicing a lemon, it is efficient and can be done by following a few extra steps.
Things You'll Need
- Electric juicer
Instructions
-
Allow the lemon to reach room temperature if it is not already there.
-
Roll the lemon on the counter top, using the palm of your hand. This action helps squeeze the inside of the lemon, which will make it yield more juice.
-
Peel the lemon as you would an orange, removing the outer skin. You also need to peel off as much of the white skin as possible.
-
Cut the lemon in half across the middle, and remove the seeds using a narrow spoon.
-
Break the lemon halves into smaller sections and insert them into your juicer. Juice the lemons according to instructions for your particular brand of juicer.
