Why drinking water from clay pot gives odour?
Earthen pots are porous in nature. When water is stored in these pots, some of the water seeps through the pores which allows clay particles mixed with water vapor get accumulated in the interiors or the outer body surface of the pot over the water level line leading to the smell that we experience from an empty terracotta pot or while consuming drinking water.
