How do you make black SHOe polish?
Here are the steps to make black SHOE polish:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup turpentine
- 1/2 cup beeswax
- 1/4 cup lampblack
- 2 tablespoons pine tar
Instructions:
1. In a double boiler, melt the beeswax over medium heat.
2. Remove from heat and stir in the turpentine.
3. Add the lampblack and pine tar and stir until combined.
4. Pour the mixture into a metal container with a lid and let it cool completely.
5. To use, apply a small amount of polish to the shoe and buff it in with a soft cloth.
Tips:
- For a glossier finish, add a few drops of linseed oil to the mixture before applying.
- For a more matte finish, omit the linseed oil.
- If the polish is too thick, thin it with a little turpentine.
- Store the polish in a cool, dark place.
