How to Boil Fresh Clams
Boiling your fresh clams makes for a wonderful treat. If you dig your own clams, soak them in salt water for several hours or overnight to remove grit inside the shells. Scrub the outsides of the shells to get rid of sand on the shells. If you buy them at a fish market, they will most likely be cleaned. Clams will live in the refrigerator for up to seven days. Keep them in a clean container, and dump out excess water daily.
