How to Deep Fry a Twix Candy Bar (8 Steps)
While you may know all about fried chicken, fried fish, French fries, and a plethora of other deep-fried savory foods, chances are you have never had a deep-fried candy bar. Initially the thought of dousing candy, already a sweet treat in batter and throwing it in the fryer just seems wrong. However, deep-fried candy bars, such as Twix bars, are popping up on dessert menus all over the country. Save your money and try it at home.
Things You'll Need
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups oil or shortening
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- Salt
- 2 Twix bars
- Deep Fryer
- Slotted spoon
- Paper towels or brown paper
Instructions

Place the Twix in the freezer until frozen.

Pour 4 cups of oil into the deep fryer and heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Whip together the egg, milk and 1 tbsp. of the vegetable oil in a bowl and combine the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt in another bowl.

Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and combine until a smooth batter forms. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until the oil is fully heated.

Remove the batter from fridge and the candy bar from the freezer. Mix the batter well.

Dip the Twix bars into the batter ensuring that both bars are fully covered in batter.

Place the battered Twix bars into the hot oil gently. Cook until the batter is golden brown.

Remove the Twix bars from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on brown paper or paper-towel lined plate to drain. Let it cool for 1 minute before eating or serving.
