How to Chop Raisins
Whether you are a seasoned chef or you simply are looking to use raisins for your own appetizer or dessert, chopping and preparing raisins is simple and does not require special skills or extensive amounts of time to complete. Preparing and chopping the raisins before cooking will help smooth the actual cooking or baking process, and will also allow you to prepare the raisins to your own taste preferences.
Things You'll Need
- Flour
- Plastic bag
- Cutting board or plate
- Knife
Instructions
-
Pour 2 tablespoons of flour into a sealable plastic bag, along with the raisins.
-
Leave air in the bag, so that it is semi-inflated, and seal it.
-
Shake the raisins with the flour for 30 seconds, or for as long as it takes to evenly coat all of the raisins in the bag.
-
Coat a surface (such as a cutting board, or plate) with flour and empty the raisins from the bag onto the surface.
-
Cut the raisins with the knife on the surface coated with flour. The flour will help remove the stickiness from the raisins and make them easier to cut. Cut raisins to whatever size is specified by the recipe you are using.
