How to Prepare Quaker Oats
If you are tired of your cold cereal or want something hot for a cold morning, Quaker Oats may provide a solution. Quaker Oats is an oatmeal breakfast cereal available in a variety of flavors and types, and usually served hot. Unlike steel cut oats, Quaker Oats can be prepared in a matter of minutes and require little prep-time. Accordingly, you can enjoy them even on those mornings when you don't have a lot of time to prepare breakfast.
Things You'll Need
- Saucepan or microwaveable bowl
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of Oats
- Spoon
- Serving bowl
- Toppings of choice (such as brown sugar, fruit and nuts)

Pour the water and salt into the saucepan. Place the pan on a stove-top and bring the water to a boil.

Stir the oats into the pan. Reduce the pan to medium heat. Cook the oats for five minutes, stirring them occasionally.

Remove the oats from the heat and pour them into a bowl. Add toppings of your choice and serve.
Oats in the microwave

Pour the water, salt and oats into the microwaveable bowl.

Place the bowl in the microwave. Turn it on high for three minutes.

Remove the bowl from the microwave. Stir the oats and add your toppings.
