How to Boil Breakfast Sausage (3 Steps)
Fresh breakfast sausage must be heated to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit before serving. Although the sausage may be cooked several different ways, par boiling, which uses a shallow amount of water to partially boil the meat, is a popular option. After the inside of the meat is cooked by boiling, the outside of the sausage is finished using direct heat. This cooking method provides sausage that is moist inside, yet crispy and flavorful on the outside.
