How to Make a Fancy Pastry Bag Out of a Ziploc Bag
Frugality in the kitchen can be an interesting challenge. Looking at techniques with a different viewpoint to assess and figure out how to save money can end up saving quite a bit of money if you try.
One example of a great way to save money is to skip buying expensive pastry bags for cake decorating. The decorating tips can easily be fit onto disposable Ziploc bags to save time and cleanup, too!
Things You'll Need
- Cake Frosting Qt.-size Ziploc bags Spatula Scissors Pastry decorating tips
Instructions

Prepare your frosting. Color the frosting and separate it into bowls according to color.

Prepare a Ziploc bag for each color of frosting. Using a spatula, place each color of frosting into a separate bag. Squeeze out excess air and seal the bag.

Snip off a diagonal corner from one lower corner of each bag with the scissors.

Select a color of frosting to start with, and attach the pastry-decorating tip to the Ziploc bag in the same fashion as a pastry bag.

Frost as desired using the different-colored frosting in the different Ziploc bags with the different tips.

Dispose of the Ziploc bags when you are finished. You don't need to clean up the pastry bags!
