How to Decorate a Tiger Cake
Add a touch of danger to your exotic themed party by creating a tiger cake as the centerpiece. With a lot of orange frosting and just a few touches of black detail you can create a cake art masterpiece that will have your guests reluctant to dig in. Although there are a variety of ways to decorate a tiger themed cake, this cake design will teach you how to create a simple tiger's face using just frosting.
Things You'll Need
- Round cake
- Spatula
- Orange frosting
- Frosting bag and tips
- White frosting
- Black frosting
Instructions
-
Assemble the cake rounds with the desired cake filling. Place the cake in the refrigerator for one hour to make frosting easier.
-
Remove the cake from the refrigerator. Apply a 1/4 to 1/6 inch layer of orange frosting to the cake, using a spatula. Smooth out the frosting with the spatula to create an even coating.
-
Place a large frosting tip into a frosting bag. Load white frosting into the frosting bag. Frost two quarter-sized circles in the center of the cake, which will be the whites of the tiger's eyes.
-
Place a medium-sized detailing frosting tip into a frosting bag. Load the frosting bag with black frosting. Squeeze out the black frosting to create pupils for the tiger's eyes, a nose and mouth for the tiger. Add stripes around the perimeter of the tiger's face.
