How do you measure 2 cups of flour?
Spoon-and-Level Method
1. Use a dry measuring cup. Do not use a liquid measuring cup. Choose a measuring cup that has a pouring lip and a spout.
2. Spoon the flour into the measuring cup. Use a large spoon, such as a soup spoon or tablespoon, to scoop the flour from the bag or container. Do not pack the flour into the spoon.
3. Fill the measuring cup above the rim. Spoon the flour into the cup until it is mounded above the rim.
4. Level the flour. Use a straight edge, such as a knife, to level the flour across the top of the measuring cup. Be sure to remove all of the excess flour.
5. Transfer the flour to a mixing bowl. Once the flour has been leveled, transfer it to the mixing bowl. Be careful not to spill any of the flour.
