How to Test Your Baking Yeast For Freshness

You may find that your questioning the freshness of your bread yeast. After all, if the yeast is no longer any good, your entire recipe will fail. Here is an easy trick to test to see if your yeast has gone bad.

Instructions

  1. Place 1 tsp yeast into a cup of warm water

  2. Add 1 TBS of sugar

  3. If the yeast foams and rises in 10 minutes, it is still good for baking.
