Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup quick-cooking grits
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, bring milk, water, salt, and sugar to a boil.
- Gradually add grits, whisking constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Cover and let stand for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
- Garnish with chopped pecans and serve immediately.
