How to Prepare Frozen Pot Pie (12 Steps)

Things You'll Need

  • Frozen pot pie
  • Microwave
  • Microwave-safe plate
  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Probe thermometer

Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Unwrap the pot pie and place it on a cookie sheet.

  3. Cover the edges of the pie with aluminum foil.

  4. Cook the pot pie for approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

  5. Remove the aluminum foil.

  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  7. Bake until the crust turns golden. This can be as long as 70 to 80 minutes if you are cooking two large pot pies. For a single pot pie, cook it for about another 40 to 50 minutes.

  8. Check the internal temperature of the pot pie with a probe thermometer. It should be at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Microwave

  1. Place your pie on a microwave-safe plate.

  2. Cook on high for four to six minutes.

  3. Check the internal temperature of the pot pie with a probe thermometer. The center should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. Continue cooking the pot pie if it is not finished when the time is up.
