Can you bake in a chafing pan?
A chafing pan is not a suitable vessel for baking. Baking typically involves controlled heating of food in an oven, whereas a chafing pan is primarily designed for keeping already-cooked food warm by placing a heat source, such as a flame or alcohol burner, underneath the pan. Chafing pans are suitable for gentle heating and serving, but not for the high temperatures required for baking. They are typically used to keep dishes in a buffet or catering setting at serving temperatures.
