- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a shallow dish, combine fish fry mix and water to make a thick batter.
3. Dip chicken pieces into the batter, coating them evenly.
4. Place the chicken pieces on a greased baking sheet.
5. Drizzle with oil.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
7. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Tips:
- For best results, use a shallow dish for dipping the chicken pieces in the batter. This will help to prevent the batter from dripping off of the chicken.
- If you want to make the chicken ahead of time, you can cook it according to the instructions and then let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, reheat the chicken in the oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until warmed through.
- This recipe can also be used with boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs. Simply cut them into 1-inch pieces and follow the same instructions.
- Zatarain's Fish Fry Breading Mix can also be used to coat fish, seafood, and vegetables. Simply follow the same instructions as for chicken.
