Things You'll Need
- 3 2/3 cups water
- Medium saucepan
- 2 cups rolled oats
- Wooden spoon
- 4 tsp. melted butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup half-and-half
- Four serving bowls
Instructions

Bring the water to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.

Reduce the heat to low and add the rolled oats. Stir the oats into the water with a wooden spoon. Continue stirring for four minutes as the oatmeal thickens.

Add the butter, brown sugar and half-and-half to the saucepan. Stir to blend the ingredients with the oatmeal and remove the saucepan from heat.

Allow the oatmeal to cool and thicken for three minutes before dishing equal amounts into four bowls. Serve immediately.
