Do you need a cockerel if have hen or will they still lay eggs?
Hens do not need a cockerel to lay eggs. Hens will lay unfertilized eggs regardless of whether there is a cockerel present. Cockerels are only necessary if you want to hatch fertile eggs to produce new chicks. If you do not plan to breed your hens, a cockerel is not necessary.
