Can you substitute egg and oil in a box cake mix?
To replace the eggs in a box cake mix
* 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or mashed banana per egg.
* 1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream per egg.
To replace the oil in a box cake mix
* Unsweetened applesauce can be substituted in equal amounts for the oil.
* You may also use melted butter or margarine in equal amounts.
* Water or milk may be used but only 2/3 of the amount of oil stated in the recipe since water and milk are not as dense as oil.
