How to Make Creamed Eggs on Toast (5 Steps)
Creamed eggs on toast is a satisfying and comforting breakfast, especially delicious on a chilly morning. It's also a great way to use up hard-boiled eggs.
Things You'll Need
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Black pepper to taste
- 3 cups milk
- 2 pieces of bread, toasted
Instructions
-
Put 6 eggs in a saucepan, cover them with water and put them on the stove to boil. Once the water has reached boiling, let them cook for 14 minutes.
-
While the eggs are cooking, make a white sauce. Any white sauce recipe will do, but here's one you can use if you don't have one you like: In a small saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and a dash of black pepper. Stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until the sauce is thick and bubbly.
-
When the eggs have finished cooking, peel them and chop them. Leave some good-sized egg chunks intact.
-
Put the eggs in the white sauce and add a little more salt and pepper.
-
Toast some bread and slice the toast into triangles. Serve the creamed eggs on top of the toast.
