How to Make a Delicious Breakfast Casserole
If you want something more than just scrambled eggs, cook up a delicious breakfast casserole. With a few simple ingredients and a little preparation, you can make breakfast dish that is sure to please. Do the prep work the night before and throw the casserole in the oven in the morning. This recipe will make six to eight servings.
Things You'll Need
- 7 slices of bread, crusts removed and cubed
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 6 bacon strips, cooked to a crisp and crumbled

Combine the bread cubes and cheese in a greased 11-by-7-by-2 baking dish.

Whisk the eggs in a large bowl. Mix in the milk, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour the mixture over the bread and cheese. Top with the bacon. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Bake uncovered for 50 to 55 minutes. When done, an insert a knife should come out clean.
