Will salt stop Gatorade from freezing?

Salt, or sodium chloride, can lower the freezing point of water when dissolved in it. However, the amount of salt required to prevent Gatorade from freezing would make the drink unpalatably salty.

Here is a table showing the freezing point of water with different concentrations of salt:

| Salt concentration (% w/w) | Freezing point (°C) |

|---|---|

| 0 | 0.0 |

| 5 | -5.0 |

| 10 | -10.2 |

| 15 | -15.9 |

| 20 | -21.6 |

To prevent Gatorade from freezing, it is more practical to use other methods such as storing the drink in a well-insulated container or using a portable heater.
