Which vegetables are fruits?
This is a bit of a trick question! It depends on how you define "fruit".
Botanically speaking, a fruit is the mature ovary of a flowering plant, containing seeds. So, by this definition:
* Tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, peppers, squash, beans, peas, and eggplant are all fruits. They develop from the flower of the plant and contain seeds.
However, in everyday language, we tend to use "fruit" and "vegetable" in a more culinary sense. We often call things "vegetables" if we eat them in savory dishes and "fruits" if we eat them as a sweet dessert.
So, while the botanical definition is accurate, the terms "fruit" and "vegetable" are not always clear-cut in everyday usage.
