How do you get soybeans to sprout before planting?

Here is the step by step process on how to sprout soybeans before planting;

1. Select healthy soybeans.

*Inspect soybeans for any blemishes or discoloration, as these may indicate they are not suitable for sprouting.

*Discard any damaged or discoloured soybeans.

2. Soak soybeans in water for 12 hours.

*Rinse soybeans under cold water.

*Put the soybeans in a large bowl or container.

*Add enough water to cover the soybeans by 2 inches.

*Cover the bowl or container and place it in a dark, cool place for 12 hours.

3. Drain soybeans and rinse them with cold water.

*After 12 hours, drain the soybeans from the water.

*Rinse soybeans thoroughly with cold water.

*Discard the water.

4. Place soybeans in a sprouting jar or container.

*A sprouting jar or container has drainage holes in the bottom. If you do not have a sprouting jar or container, you can use a colander or a fine-mesh strainer.

*Spread soybeans evenly in the sprouting jar or container. Make sure soybeans do not overlap each other.

5. Cover soybeans with a lid or cheesecloth.

*If using a sprouting jar or container with a lid make sure the soybeans do not touch the lid.

*A lid or piece of cheesecloth keeps soybeans from drying out.

*Place the sprouting jar or container in a dark, cool place for 2-3 days.

6. Rinse soybeans twice daily.

*Twice a day, morning and night, rinse soybeans with cold water.

*Make sure to drain all of the water after rinsing.

*Do not let soybeans sit in water, as this can cause them to rot.

7. Soybeans should sprout within 2-3 days.

*Soybeans are ready to eat when tiny tails or sprouts have grown by about half their original length.

8. Use sprouted soybeans in salads, stir-fries, or other dishes.

*You can use sprouted soybeans in any recipe that calls for soybeans.

*Sprouted soybeans are slightly crunchy, sweet, and have a slightly nutty flavour.

*They are a great source of protein, fibre, and vitamins.
