How to Make..General Sauce?
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
1.) In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
2.) Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is golden brown.
3.) Slowly whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer.
4.) Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
5.) Season with salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
6.) Serve immediately.
Tips:
- To make a lump-free sauce, whisk the flour and butter together before adding the milk.
- If you want a thinner sauce, add more milk. If you want a thicker sauce, cook it for longer.
