How long can jello sit out?
It's generally not safe to leave Jell-O out at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Here's why:
* Bacteria growth: Jell-O is a good breeding ground for bacteria, especially in warm temperatures.
* Spoilage: Leaving Jell-O out too long can cause it to spoil, leading to an unpleasant taste and potential illness.
To be extra safe, refrigerate Jell-O as soon as it's set.
Exceptions:
* If the Jell-O is unflavored and used as a base for a dish, it can be left out for a slightly longer time, but it's still best to refrigerate it within 2 hours.
* If the Jell-O is part of a larger dish (like a fruit salad) that is kept cold, it may be safe to leave it out for a longer period, but it's still best to use caution.
Always err on the side of caution and refrigerate your Jell-O as soon as possible.
