Cans of food in your kitchen are likely magnetized Why?
Tin cans are not magnetic. Tin cans are made out of tin-plated steel. Tin, iron and steel are all ferromagnetic materials, meaning they are attracted to magnets. However, the thickness of the tin coating on a tin can is too thin to make the can magnetic. For a magnet to attract a tin can, the can would have to be made out of a much thicker layer of tin.
