How to Make Nacho Cheese with Cheddar

It's cheap and easy to pick up a bottle of pre-made nacho cheese sauce at the store, but nothing tastes better than homemade, to your taste, nacho cheese.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 tbsp. butter 1/2 cup milk 1 tbsp. corn starch 1 oz. cream cheese 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 tsp. habanero sauce 1/2 tsp. chili powder Knife Cheese shredder Heavy saucepan Whisk

Instructions

  1. Shred 1 cup of cheddar cheese and set aside.

  2. Cube 1 oz. cream cheese and set aside.

  3. Put saucepan on burner and turn on.

  4. Add 1 1/2 tbsp. of butter.

  5. Whisk in 1 tbsp. of corn starch.

  6. Whisk 1/2 cup of milk into the saucepan.

  7. Add cubed cream cheese to the saucepan and stir until smooth.

  8. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and mix until smooth.

  9. Stir in 1/2 tsp. of chili powder.

  10. Pour the habanero sauce into the saucepan.

  11. Serve nacho cheese hot.
