How to Cook Chex Party Mix in an Oven (7 Steps)
For more than 50 years Chex party mix has been a favorite party snack food. The mix can be cooked in the microwave or baked in the oven. If cooking in the microwave it takes only about 6 minutes, cooking on high and stirring every two minutes. The original recipe calls for cooking in the oven. The party mix should be stored in an air tight container.
Things You'll Need
- Large roasting pan
- Large bowl
- Large spoon
- Paper towels
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion power
- 3 cups Corn Chex Cereal
- 3 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 3 Cups Wheat Chex Cereal
- 1 cup mixed nuts
- 1 cup bite-sized pretzels
- 1 cup garlic-flavored bite sized bagel chips
Instructions

Heat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Melt the butter in the roasting pan.

Stir the seasonings (Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder and onion powder) into the butter.

Combine cereal, nuts, pretzels and bagels in a bowl and mix.

Gradually add the cereal mixture to the roasting pan with the melted butter. Mix until the cereal mixture is evenly coated with the butter and seasonings.

Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Spread the mixture on paper towels and allow it to cool for 15 minutes.
