What do you give your dog that has eaten currants?

Do not give your pet anything unless directed to do so by a veterinary professional!

You should immediately contact a veterinarian if you suspect your dog has eaten currants. Induce vomiting if the dog consumed the currants within the last 2 hours. Administer activated charcoal to absorb the toxin if advised. Activated charcoal is commonly available in most pharmacies. Be prepared to take the following information with you to your veterinarian:

* species, breed, age, weight, and sex of your dog

* the amount of currants consumed (estimate)

* the time of ingestion (approximate)

* any vomiting, diarrhea or other symptoms noted
