What kind of food does American robin eat?

The American robin primarily eats insects and fruits. Insects make up the majority of its diet, especially during spring and summer when more insects are abundant. Earthworms, beetles, grasshoppers, crickets, spiders, and caterpillars are some common insects consumed by robins. As for fruits, robins typically eat berries and small fruits such as cherries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, elderberries, and grapes. They may also eat other types of fruits like apples and pears, especially when other food sources are scarce. Robis sometimes feed on seeds and grains, but this is less common compared to insects and fruits.
